Getting Started

We are creating this blog to share our bopping around experiences with friends and family and to keep in touch on a regular basis. We will do our best to post as often as possible and hope to hear all the news from home as we travel.

  1. Mother and Mrs. Mother--

Let me be the first to send you on your way down under. Wish we could all join you. We will be living vicariously in front of our computers waiting for words and pictures from the world travelers.

Have fun, be safe and keep those letters coming. Jose

  2. Seeing as how it is Les' birthday today, you must be getting ready to board your plane for Kiwi-land any minute. (You told us the 6th, I think?)
I have implored my friend to shake a leg Re: Italy, to no avail. However, I WILL depart this spring one way or another, I assure you.
We can't wait to hear of your adventures as your trek progresses.
    Travel safely!

  3. News Flash!! I dropped M & J at the hotel last night in Bloomington and everything went fine. They got all or their luggage from the car and didn't forget anything.

Tonight they are in LA where they will visit Britney and Dr. Phil before heading to Tahiti. Watch out for the Paparazzi!
[This is a test of the American blogcast system. In the event of some real news you would be expected to read everything]

  4. MOther--

Glad you make it out of the US with only some bad customer relations and traffic sounds. That's life in the big city. Have fun on the beach and keep your tips up. Have fun mate. Jose

    Updating the local football.

Green Bay, San Diego, New England and the Giants are all on to the championship round.

So far there seems to be lots of eating and drinking and tours. When will we hear about the deep sea diving, bungy jumping, sky diving and other death defying exciting news. You guys sound like retirees.

It sounds like lots of fun. Keep the news coming our way. Jose

  6. Mom? Dad??

    Where ARE you???????

You know how nervous I get when I am unable to get hold of you for any insipid little reason. Remember the first night you left the Lodge for a few hours of fun? My faith that the earth will not open up and swallow the rest of us whole in your absence has not deepened by any significant measure since then.
Are you being persecuted by the "cocktail police" down there? They couldn't be any worse than you, Mary. What with your rules about what time of year to drink manhattans and such. Serves you right if they make you drink Pimm's or some such weak tinkle while you munch on kangaroo and vegemite sandwiches.....not! You will be swilling beer, Of course!

  7. Greetings, Z's!
What an adventure you are having! We just returned from three weeks in the snow last night. I didn't take my laptop along (Business? What business?) so I couldn't keep up on your escapades. I devoured nearly all of your entries tonight. Very entertaining, to say the least. You have missed your true calling! When I read about the glacier hike, I nearly had to braid my legs. WAY too funny....er...maybe not? Previously, when I posted my whiney "Mom/Dad where ARE you?" bit, my cat had been covering the part of the screen that you click on to read your entries. I felt, in Mom's vernacular, "like a blithering Idiot!". When she reads this she will turn to John and say: "WELL?". I can see that smirk coming all of the way from Melbourne! XO's krissy
